| The Harrison Township Fire Department protects 12,500 in 146 square miles. Harrison Township is responsible for fire and emergency medical services in Harrison, Madison, Walnut, Muhlenberg & Jackson Townships along with the Villages of Ashville & South Bloomfield. We operate out of 1 fire station and protect primarily a residential area. Our department is a combination of Full-Time paid and Part-Time paid employees. We staff our station with 6 Firefighter/EMT's. We have an ISO rating of 5 in the Villages of Ashville & South Bloomfield and a 9 in the Township areas. The Harrison Township Fire Department is governed by the Harrison Township Board of Trustees. |

RECOGNITION AWARD On May 21, 2008, Harrison Township EMS will be recognized by the Ohio Department of Public Safety in a ceremony during National EMS Week. On February 7, 2008, at 12:26p.m., Harrison Township EMS crews were dispatched to 18646 Island Road for a 3 month old difficulty breathing. EMS crews were blocked from the residence by flood waters crossing Island Road. Medic 801 summoned Engine 801 to the scene along with Pickaway Township Rescue 204 and the Pickaway County Dive Team for a boat. It took EMS & Rescue crews over 1 hour 30 minutes to navigate the fast moving water to reach the child. EMS crews rendered care to the child and transported him to Nationwide Children's Hospital for further care. Harrison Township personnel who will be recognized are: Captain Eric Edgington, Firefighter Shawn Davidson, Firefighter Jason Welsh, Firefighter Jeremy Stiver, Firefighter Beau Ramey & Firefighter Patrick Davidson. |
